Assigning content to groups
Assigning content to groups (MyStudio)
In MyStudio, you can assign courses or playlists directly to groups.
This makes it easy to deliver learning content to multiple users at once, instead of assigning it individually.
Why Assign to Groups?
- Saves time by assigning content to many users in one step.
- Ensures consistency—everyone in the group receives the same content.
- Makes it easier to manage training for classes, cohorts, or teams.
How to Assign Content to a Group
- From the left-hand menu, go to Users & Groups → Groups.
- Select the group you want to assign content to.
- Click Assign Content.
- Choose whether you want to assign a:
- Course, or
- Playlist.
- Use the search bar or filters to find the right item.
- Select the content and click Assign.
What Happens Next
- The assigned course or playlist appears in each group member’s Dashboard (under My Courses or My Playlists).
- New users added to the group later will also automatically receive the same assignments.
- Removing a user from the group removes their access to group-assigned content.
Managing Assignments
- To see what content a group already has, open the group’s detail view.
- From here you can:
- Add new assignments.
- Remove existing assignments.
- Check which users currently have access.
Best Practices
- Assign at the group level for large classes or company departments.
- For small or one-off cases, assign directly to individual users instead.
- Review assignments periodically to ensure content is still relevant.
In Summary
Assigning content to groups lets you manage learning at scale:
- Assign once, and every group member receives access.
- New members automatically inherit assignments.
- Manage everything centrally from the Groups section.
