Assigning playlists to users or groups (MyStudio)


In MyStudio, once you’ve created a playlist, you can assign it directly to learners.

Assignments can be made at two levels: individual users or groups. Assigned playlists then appear under the My Playlists tab in the learner’s LMS Dashboard.



Where to Assign a Playlist


  1. Go to the Playlists section from the left-hand menu.
  2. Select the playlist you want to assign.
  3. Click the Assign button.



Assigning to Individual Users


  1. In the assignment window, choose Users.
  2. Search for learners by name or email address.
  3. Select the users you want to assign the playlist to.
  4. Confirm and save.
  • The playlist will now appear in each selected user’s My Playlists tab in the LMS.



Assigning to Groups


  1. In the assignment window, choose Groups.
  2. Browse or search for the group you want to assign the playlist to.
  • Groups can be created and managed from the Users & Groups section in MyStudio.
  1. Select the group and confirm.
  2. All members of that group will automatically receive the playlist in their My Playlists tab.



Managing Assignments


  • You can return to the Assign panel at any time to:
  • Add new users or groups.
  • Remove users or groups from the assignment.
  • Any updates are reflected immediately in the LMS.



Best Practices


  • Use Groups when assigning playlists to large cohorts—it saves time.
  • Assign to individuals when you need to target specific learners.
  • Regularly review assignments to ensure playlists remain relevant.
