# Bulk uploading users (CSV) (MyStudio)

# Bulk uploading users (CSV) (MyStudio)

In **MyStudio**, administrators can add multiple users at once using a **CSV file upload**.  
This is the fastest way to onboard large groups of learners, instructors, or staff.

## Preparing Your CSV File

Your CSV file should include the following columns:

* **First Name**  
* **Last Name**  
* **Email Address**  
* **Role** (Learner, Instructor, or Admin)  
* **Group** (optional – assign the user to a group during upload)

## Uploading Users in Bulk

1. Go to **Users & Groups** → **Users**.  
2. Click **Bulk Upload (CSV)**.  
3. Select your prepared CSV file.  
4. Review the preview to confirm the data is correct.  
5. Click **Upload** to add all users.

## After Upload

* Users will be created in the system automatically.  
* Each new user receives an **email invitation** to log in.  
* If a **Group** was specified in the CSV, users are added to that group immediately.

## Common Errors and Fixes

* **Invalid email format** → Ensure emails are typed correctly.  
* **Missing role** → Each user must have a role (Learner, Instructor, Admin).  
* **Duplicate entries** → The system will skip users who already exist.

## Best Practices

* Download a **CSV template** (if available) to avoid formatting errors.  
* Double-check emails before upload—this is how users access their accounts.  
* For large institutions, upload in smaller batches to simplify error correction.
