Creating a new playlist (MyStudio)

In MyStudio, administrators and instructors can create playlists to organize courses or videos into a structured path for learners.

Playlists are a powerful way to group learning materials and assign them to users or groups within your institution.

Ways to Create a New Playlist

You can create playlists from two entry points:

1. From the Create Button (Left Menu)

• Click the red Create button in the left-hand menu.
• In the Create modal, choose Playlist.
• You will be guided to the Create Playlist page.

2. From the Playlists Section

• Navigate to Playlists from the left-hand menu.
• Click + New Playlist.
• The Create Playlist form will open.

Setting Up the Playlist

When creating a playlist, fill in the following details:

• Playlist Name: A clear and descriptive title (e.g., Introduction to Contract Law).
• Description: Briefly explain what the playlist covers and who it is for.
• Category/Tags: (Optional) Add tags to make the playlist easier to search.
• Visibility: Decide whether the playlist will be draft (not yet assigned) or published (ready for learners).

Adding Content

Once the playlist shell is created, you can add learning content:

1. Click Add Content inside the playlist.
2. Choose from:

• Courses (entire courses).
• Individual videos or units.

3. Use the search bar and filters to find the right content quickly.
4. Add selected items to your playlist in the order you want learners to view them.

Organizing and Editing

• Drag and drop items to reorder content within the playlist.
• Click the edit icon next to items to rename or remove them.
• You can always return later to update the playlist with new items.

Assigning the Playlist

After creating and organizing your playlist:

1. Go to the Assign option within the playlist.
2. Choose to assign it to:

• Individual users, or
• Groups (if your institution uses groups in MyStudio).

3. Once assigned, the playlist will appear in the My Playlists tab of learners’ dashboards in the LMS.

• Assign the playlist to users or groups so it appears in their My Playlists tab.
